BELEK
Belek is set on a beautiful long stretch of beach of coarse golden sand that has been awarded a Blue Flag showing the area has achieved the highest quality in water, facilities, safety, environmental education and management. The area has been developed to provide the best in accommodation and facilities whilst preserving the unique natural environment and ecological balance.
The sandy beach is one of the few in Turkey where the rare Loggerhead (Caretta caretta) turtles lay their eggs. Hundreds of different plant species make the area a paradise for birds including the Tyto Alba, a hooded barn owl.
The city of Antalya with its charming harbour and old town is 40 km to the west and to the east are the beautiful Manavgat waterfalls and the ancient town of Side.
Belek is a premier golf resort with seven existing championship golf courses and one 9-hole course. For non-golfers, there are a wide range of water-sports available including sailing, windsurfing, parasailing, and jet skiing. White-water rafting is also available locally.
